Guimaras Island

When we say Guimaras our perception is mangoes, yes indeed Guimaras is an island of mangoes. They claimed to be the country of sweetest mango not only in the Philippines but in the whole world. But Guimaras is not only famous for its sweetest mango but also endowed with white sand beaches, crystal clear water good for scuba diving, a century old church known as Navatas Church.

I'm fortunate to experience and enjoy the beauty of crystal clear water of Alubihod beach in Buenavista. One of the top tourist destinations in Guimaras during summer. If you have plan to go for a swimming please include Alubihod in your list to visit. I assure  you will enjoy this place.

Abandoned Convent

People might found this ruined Covent uninteresting  but for me is is worth to see. This Covent is made up of coral stones, perfectly arranged in blocks forming 4 perfect rectangular shapes. They said that somewhere in this convent there was a  "Pugon"  an improvised oven used to bake breads. A part of it is used by the Knight of Columbus as meeting venue.

Meters away from the ruined covent, there you can find deep well made up of coral stones but sad to say I haven't picture of it. According to my great grandmother during Japanese occupation in the Philippines many raped Filipina, innocent children and filipino men were thrown here, they were murdered. That's the reason why folk spread in town thus gaining this deep  " mariit ".
